Christmas is always a crazy time of the year and this one was no exception! Durawall was asked to complete approx. 54m of intricate retaining walls at the St Luke’s Green development at the Gabba in Brisbane. A massive $40m residential care facility being constructed by Hutchinson Builders.
We were only given 4 days to complete the task before the site closed for the Christmas break. Being a large construction site with many trades working onsite, a well thought out, safe and coordinated approach needed to be undertaken. Access was really tight so machinery and materials had to be brought in slowly and in a controlled manner. The walls had to be built in two sections from either end of the site adding to the logistical challenge. We deployed two install teams, with two combos and coordinated deliveries of materials to either end of the site.
Our boys put in a great effort to complete the job on schedule. They certainly earned their break over Christmas! The Hutchies site staff were very helpful and great to work with, especially when time was so critical.
We will always try to find a positive solution for any retaining wall project.
